Justin Hammer was the head of Hammer Industries.
History[]
Hammer inherited the company from his father and became a high-ranking businessman, taking a Quartermain oath in 1997, and predicting that Mutants would cost George Bush's predecessor a second term. Hammer started creating his own super-powered individuals and violating the test treaty. He sold Maxwell Dillon to Wilson Fisk, and his lead scientist John Skrtic worked on others such as Flint Marko. Otto Octavius was hired to spy on Norman Osborn's laboratory, but seemingly died in an accident. S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Sharon Carter and James Woo met with him when a break-in occurred, Hammer's picture of his father shredded. They explained that Octavius survived the explosion at Osborn Industries, and his arms fused to him. As they were explaining Spider-Man saw them, and the agents opened fire, to Hammer's horror. In a limo with his assistant Judith, Hammer called Skrtic and learned that the super humans were not advancing far in testing stages. Hammer went to give a speech at the dome project he created, a nuclear power plant to end New York's blackouts. During it, Octavius' face appeared on the projector behind Hammer. Hammer was escorted away, and denounced Spider-Man as being responsible to draw attention away from Octavius. Angry, Hammer stormed into his building and ranted at the damage Octavius caused, and saw Spider-Man. Hammer offered Spider-Man a deal that he would pay for Octavius' death. Spider-Man refused, and Hammer went one of his laboratories with Judith and saw Octavius hosting a press conference. Octavius killed the limo driver and hoisted Hammer's vehicle upwards, demanding Hammer to reveal himself. Hammer mumbled to Judith that she deserved better, and collapsed of a heart attack. He died soon afterwards,.
Abilities and Traits[]
Hammer was a shrewd businessman, though operated through shady means a lot of the time. He was actually a good man, but took far too many extreme decisions and projects to preserve his business.
