Kitty Pryde is a Mutant and a hero under the name Shadowcat. She is 13 years old.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Kitty released her Mutant powers, and often had uncontrollable episodes where she would phase through objects and be unable to turn her powers off. After her mother Theresa Pryde learned of this, she often helped get Kitty from wherever she ended up. After her mother stopped her from going on a sleepover that she figured out was a part, Kitty had a severe phasing incident and ended up in the sewers.
The Xavier Institute[]
Jean Gray arrived at the Pryde's to take Kitty to learn how to control her powers at the Xavier Institute for Gifted Children. Scott Summers flew the Blackbird directly overhead and scared Pryde, but they arrived at the house fine. Kitty was taken on a tour and introduced to the X-Men, and her mother let her stay but on the condition she not go on any missions with the X-Men. Gray collapsed with physic visions when Pryde left, shocking Kitty. Kitty later intruded on Summers in the map room and asked what he felt about the name 'Shadowcat'. Summers dismissed her, and Kitty was shocked when James Howlett entered the room and started getting angry about Summers' relationship with Gray, starting a fight. Kitty ran to get Charles Xavier, and he stopped the fight. Summers and Howlett were sent to bond on a mission to the Savage Land together, and Kitty stowed away on the Blackbird. When the X-Men found her out, they made her stay at the plane, and she called Xavier to apologize, but Xavier expelled her. A dinosaur came near the ship and Kitty phased to Summers and Howlett underground fort help, and inadvertently destroyed their supercomputer nemesis.
