Mortimer Toynbee or Toad is a member of the Brotherhood of Mutants.
Biography[]
Toynbee joined the Brotherhood and accompanied them on the mission to kidnap George Bush's daughter and bring her to Croatia. The X-Men attacked, and Bobby Drake defeated Toynbee by freezing his legs. He later helped the Brotherhood bomb London, and break out the X-Men from the Weapon X project by tracking James Howlett. Scott Summers and Toynbee often had phone conversations afterwards about movies and current events for hours on end. After Pietro Lensherr rescued Animal Evolutionaries from a laboratory, Toynbee and many Mutants left the Brotherhood.

Toynbee is a follower of the Brotherhood, but still is fun-loving, and forms friendships easily.
He has the appearance and physicality of a large toad.
