Natalia Romanova is Black Widow, a member of the Ultimates. She is an villain and a antagonist in The Ultimates.
Biography[]
Romanova was found abandoned as a child by soldier Ivan Petrovitch, and was a descendant of the former royal family of Russia. She was trained in the Red Room as an agent, and also practiced ballet under the KGB's watch. She married Soviet pilot Alexi Shostakov, but the marriage was short-lived. After the KGB was dissolved, she ended up briefly working for S.H.I.E.L.D. before leaving them. Trying to prove herself, she went in Latveria's Embassy and shadowed Golog for six months before being found out. She easily escaped and ran into Spider-Man who swung her to safety. Romanova began flirting with him, only to get close and knock him out. Nick Fury came and took her back to S.H.I.E.L.D..
She was placed as member of their black-ops team with Clint Barton. She and Barton took out two officer buildings of Chitauri agents, but Romanova had to jump to Barton's building to bail him out after a bomb went off. She and Barton attended a talk by Fury about the Chitauri. Pietro Lensherr insisted to Romanova that he used his speed powers to save her and Barton's lives in the office buildings, and the existence of aliens shocked Anthony Stark. Romanova talked to Stark about death as the Ultimates prepped to go to Micronesia and the Chitauri's base. The island was deserted, but Steve Rogers found a bomb, and had Stark shield the Ultimates and as many S.H.I.E.L.D. soldiers as possible. With Chitauri ships being sighted in Arizona, Thor teleported the remaining soldiers to Arizona. In the Battle of Arizona, Romanova found Janet van Dyne and a bomb threatening to blow up the planet. Stark pulled it out, and Romanova thought he was sacrificing himself by hurling it in space, but Stark actually had Thor teleport it. Thinking Thor could not actually teleport between dimensions, she was shocked when he did so. Romanova later celebrated the defeat of the Chitauri with the other Ultimates, and Pietro assured that he helped her.
Personality[]
