Otto Octavius was one of the chief scientists for Norman Osborn at Osborn Industries, but was mutated by an explosion into Doctor Octopus. He plays as an secondary antagonist in the Ultimate Spider-Man comic overall, as an ally to the Green Goblin and a second nemesis to Peter Parker.

Biography[]

Scientist[]

Octavius became one of Norman's top scientists and met his son Harry Osborn who nicknamed him Doc Ock, a pun on his last name Octavius. Justin Hammer hired Octavius as a corporate spy. When Harry gave Peter Parker a tour of the lab after Peter was bitten by the 00 Spider, Octavius took a sample of Peter's blood and sent it to Norman. Norman learned that Peter's condition had reached a point where he was physically superior to most. Norman had Octavius inject him with the OZ chemical the 00 Spider possessed, and it turned Norman into the Green Goblin who ravaged Osborn Industries and left Octavius with severe injuries.

Doctor Octopus[]

Octavius' metal arms that controlled with nerve signals were embedded into him, and became as natural as flesh. A group of scientists led by Henry Pym tried to tell him that it could be a blessing, but Octavius was enraged at being left in a horrible condition and broke out of the lab. He went to his old apartment and murdered the current tenant, as Octavius had amnesia and some form of insanity. Remembering Hammer, Octavius went into Hammer's office and blamed Hammer for his condition and ripped a picture of Hammer's father into shreds. At Hammer's press conference to talk about a new nuclear program, Octavius burst into the nuclear laboratory and began wrecking havoc. Spider-Man dropped in and tried to stop Octavius, but Octavius electrocuted him out of the nuclear power plant. He later went to Hammer's industry building, and held a press conference denouncing Hammer. Hammmer's limo pulled up, and Octavius grabbed Hammer's limo and killed the driver. As he went to kill Hammer, Spider-Man intervened again and fought Octavius. This time, Spider-Man defeated Octavius and ripped some of his arms out. S.H.I.E.L.D. imprisoned Octavius, where Octavius remembered that Spider-Man was Peter Parker. This information was later recorded by S.H.I.E.L.D.

Personality[]

Otto is a cold calculating doctor who is a dedicated and corrupt scientist. After his accident, he had mental instability and could not remember everything about his past.

Powers & Abilities[]

He has four metal arms fused to his skin, that could morph into guns or electric shooters.
