Summary[]
In 1944, Steve Rogers is stuck hanging on a Nazi support train as Kleiser stands over, Kleiser gloating that Rogers' team failed to hijack the train and the Germans will build a weapon to obliterate London and win World War II. Rogers informs that the train is actually set to explode, and dives in the water as it does. A year later, the army has Rogers go to Iceland to stop a missile launch Kleiser is running, which will lead to Rogers getting frozen. On a Helicarrier in the present, Rogers talk to Nick Fury about feeling nervous as this mission is just like the one he did in 1945. In the hospital, Janet van Dyne gets out of bed to find staff to get her a drink, and finds they have been replaced with Chitauri. She escapes in the air vents as S.H.I.E.L.D. swarms the island where the Chitauri are hiding, but Thor finds the island deserted, and Anthony Stark confirms this. Fury is angered and directs the team to scan the abandoned bases for anything at all. In New York, van Dyne tries to radio the team that it is a trap, and the Chitauri are actually infiltrating the Ultimates' base. Fury gets nothing but static, and Rogers suddenly yells for Stark when soldiers find a bomb with one second left on it. They are incinerated and all the personnel surrounding the island are as well in an enormous nuclear boas. The Chitauri lock van Dyne in, as Kleiser, somehow alive in the present, comes to get her.
