"Well, the way I rationalized it was that turning into The Monster and giving everyone something to fight was the only way I could stop my life's dream from going up in smoke...But the honest-to-God truth is that I just missed being big."

Summary[]
Larry King interviews Anthony Stark, who has spent two weeks in space after the Ultimates were founded with Shannon Elizabeth. Stark delivers an update on the Ultimates team, with Bruce Banner dejected to hear him saying Banner's experiments on the Super-Soldier serum have been unsuccessful. Janet van Dyne takes Steve Rogers shopping to get him modern clothes, remarking on Rogers' looking young but sounding old. As they head to Rogers' apartment, they find it ransacked. Banner and Betty Ross talk about Banner's failures as Banner watches Henry Pym showing off for the press. Ross tells Banner that she will break up with him for good if he fails to get Thor to join the team. Fury and Banner head to Norway to meet with Thor, who claims to be descended from Norse Gods. Banner tries to call him out for being delusional, but Thor reads his mind and using Mjolnir to create a thunderstorm, saying he is saving the world from people like the Ultimates. Weeks later, the Ultimates and Fury discuss who would play themselves in the break room, and Pym makes jokes about Banner as Banner walks in. Banner runs off into Times Square and calls Ross, telling her that she and her date Freddie Prinze Jr. are going to be in serious danger as he has injected himself with Hulk cells to feel the thrill of it again. EMTs find him unconscious, and he turns into the Hulk in the ambulance and bursts out of it, crying for Prinze Junior. The Ultimates suit up to combat him, led by Rogers.
