The Ultimates 9: Captain America vs Giant Man is the ninth issue of The Ultimates.

Summary

Steve Rogers grabbs Henry Pym's shoulders and directs him to the television where reporters talk about the attack Pym made on Janet van Dyne, his wife. Before Pym can even explain, Rogers drags him in an ally and yells at him to grow to create a fair fight. Pym increases his height dramatically and angrily tries to kill Rogers, but Rogers jumps out of a window and drags him into a construction site. Rogers is too nimble for Pym, and Rogers triggers metal beams to fall and crush Pym, knocking him unconscious to the horror of the watching S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Betty Ross informs Bruce Banner about Pym's beating and of the threat the shapeshifting Chitauri possibly manipulating global affairs since World War II and that the Ultimates are heading to Micronesia where their base is. A nervous Anthony Stark talks to Natalia Romanova about the chances of dying on the upcoming mission. Before the Ultimates leave, Rogers sees van Dyne in the infirmary and tries to cheer her up, but van Dyne rebukes him, annoyed at his involvement in her and Pym's lives. Rogers joins Nick Fury as he gives the go the mission to shut down the Chitauri base.
