Ultimate X-Men 10: In the Heart of Darkness was the tenth Ultimate X-Men issue, the third chapter in the Weapon X story arc.
Summary[]
Outside the genetics lab in India, Ororo Munroe creates a blizzard and rain inside the building as she, Jean Gray, Scott Summers, and Kurt Wagner communicate with John Wraith at S.H.I.E.L.D. command. Wagner teleports inside and opens the door in for the other X-Men, and Summers shoots the soldiers. On a train to Nepal, Nick Fury's captors begin interrogating him when Bobby Drake takes out their helicopter escort. At Wraith's urging, Piotr Rasputin blocks the train for Henry McCoy to rescue Fury. Summers finds what Fury had seen before he was incapacitated, a massive organic amalgam of mutant genes. Wraith gives the kill order, and Summers presses the detonator as Wagner teleports him away. Munroe and Gray meet the doctor behind the operation Atul Pandya. Wraith orders Gray to kill him, but she refuses until forced to choose between him and Summers. Back in their cells, Rasputin assures Drake that James Howlett will rescue them, but Victor Creed shows them that the Wolverine has been already captured. Abraham Cornelius and Wraith discuss the future of Weapon X, which on the verge of being shut-down, and go to Charles Xavier, who is hooked into a mass of wires.
