Ultimate X-Men 22: Hellfire and Brimstone Part 1 is the twenty-second Ultimate X-Men issue.
Summary[]
The massive rhino Sumatran crashes into a Pakistani nuclear base for the Brotherhood of Mutants, but kills himself. Pietro Lensherr sighs and checks on the other Mutants, animal revolutionaries recently broken out by the Brotherhood. Pietro speeds past the guards and flips through a laser security system and releases a HHVX Mutant virus overrunning the nuclear command. Wanda Lensherr raises Pakistan's nuclear missiles in the air and detonates them. Back at their base, Franklin Dukes tries to film Pietro explaining the Brotherhood's reasons for neutralizing Pakistan and India's nuclear arsenals, causing Prosimian to seriously question his leadership. Charles Xavier talks to Jean Gray after she had another vision of the Phoenix Force, and Gray is now fine. Xavier suggests she try and include Henry McCoy and James Howlett in more things as they have felt disconnected recently. Kitty Pryde phases into the Map Room and asks Scott Summers how he feels about the codename Shadowcat when Howlett walks in drunk and starts taunting Summers that Gray will soon want to date him. Summers and Howlett have a massive fight and Kitty runs to get Xavier, who saves Summers from being killed by a crazed Howlett by stunning Howlett. Disappointed in Summers, he puts the two in a slow state of time as Kitty yells that Gray is having another physic episode.
