Washington D.C. or the District of Columbia is the capital of the United States of America. It has a population of 650,000, the twenty-fifth largest city in the United States, with its metropolitan area having around 5 million people, the sixty-ninth largest on Earth.
History[]
The city was bombed by the Brotherhood of Mutants causing the Sentinels to be released. After his daughter was saved, President George Bush invited the X-Men to the White House where he announced he had found the Savage Land. Sentinels were sent there, but Erik Lensherr reprogrammed them and sent them back to D.C. The Battle for Washington D.C. began with Sentinels attacking the National Mall while the X-Men fought them. Lensherr attempted to kill Bush, but was stopped by Xavier who pooled the Sentinel debris around him and detonated them. The city was saved and Lensherr declared dead. The White House later hosted a gala for the Ultimates after they saved the planet from Chitauri.

DC is divided at the Capitol building into four quadrants: Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, and Southeast. The National Mall is the most famous area of DC and features an area that has the seats of United States Government. Notable structures are the Supreme Court, Capitol Building, Washington Monument, White House, and the Lincoln Memorial.
